Charming Main Character, but that's all!. Venetica – Gold Edition features a likable protagonist, Scarlett, and a unique Venetian fantasy setting, but the underlying game is unpolished and technically frustrating. Despite its interesting narrative premises, spending over twenty hours with it feels more like an endurance test than an enjoyable RPG experience. The combat mechanics feel floaty and imprecise, while quest tracking and dialogue trees are often confusing and poorly structured. Worse still, the game suffers from frequent crashes and technical glitches, making manual saves every few minutes absolutely essential to protect your progress. Scarlett's charm and the visual atmosphere are the only elements carrying you to the end: once you finish the campaign, there is zero incentive to ever reinstall this buggy adventure. Tip: Save each 5 minutes!
my fav rpg. I bought this on a whim, thinking it was just going to be basic because it wasn't very well known but I ended up loving every moment and it got me out of gaming burnout :)
Good God No. Do not buy this game. It is not worth any amount of money. If I got it for free I would've asked for a refund.
This is a good one. Looking for an RPG with a female protagonist I stumbled across Venetica and I am so glad I did. I found it enjoyable, the mechanics were understandable and I was able to start and continue without having to resort to game guides. It is not the biggest game or the hardest game but it was bug free and is one I have returned to and replayed and one I think I will play again, when I have had time to forget all the twists and turns and explore it anew.
