lacking in basic functionality. twilight oracle is an okay sci-fi point & click adventure with excellent pixel graphics, great music and some necessary and a bunch of missing functionality. manual saving anytime over multiple slots (no overwrite confirmation, so be careful, and why limit them to 7?), constant autosaves, so no on-screen indication necessary, but the save itself should show time and date like manual slots. active cursor highlights what's interactable on mouseover and text display is instant. I really hate pixel-hunting and there's no hotspot indicator to show every clickable thing, unfortunately. screens aren't littered with them but excluding optional quality of life because 'design decisions' is not cool. missing a few small spots near the end (or parts of bigger things I didn't realize were separate) caused unnecessary frustration. can't double-click to move faster, no…
Really short fairly flawed but fun. Really short and fairly flawed but fun none the less if you like standard point n clicks. The writing is more than a little off for me, there’s a lot of “witty” bants from the protagonist which often rambles on far too long to tedious conclusion. The voice acting is just awful making the bad lines grate even more. The game mechanics are largely basic and utilise pixel hunting a lot which is a lazy and annoying way of elongating puzzles. The story is bizarre but that bit I do like, reminds me of those early Kings Quest or Legend of Kyrandia games, odd locations and lore, no real explanation, makes the quest more magical I guess. For all it’s faults I liked the game as it reminded me of that bye-gone era and would recommend if you like point n clicks and have a couple of hours to spare.
Fun, but bugged, old scholl point&click. It's a fun little game, 2.5-3 hours, very much reminiscent of those 80s and 90s VGA adventures. Voice acting, while not seeming professionally done, is fine and definitely better than MANY of those old school games where they herded the office staff into a recording booth and yelled "Read the lines". Sadly it doesn't seem to be getting any more support and, at least for me, all achievements are broken. I played through the game and got not a single one. I posted on the forums and waited a couple weeks, but no reply.
sweet. Well in short its good, much better than what I expected. The puzzles are balanced and the dialogues are pretty good. I started understanding the humor in the jokes later in the game. Relatively short which is not a bad thing. Definitly should try it if you like this kinda stuff
