Peace and Calm. This is by far one of the most unique games I have ever played. Most games, I am always trying to get to some destination or complete some task. But here, my task is to just wait. It's weird to feel no urgency to get to the next section and just linger. It is a truly peaceful game where you just try to find something to occupy you; drawing, reading, walking through the labyrinth of cave tunnels. A true simulation of loneliness.
An Experience. In this game, you play a creature , servant to the king of an underground kingdom who is tasked to wait 400 days then to awaken the king. From the start of the game, a timer starts to count down the seconds in real time. The gameplay is an experience in patience and discovery. You can really choose how you use the time. You can quit the game and not play at all, the timer continues to countdown just the same. You can explore the vast underground kingdom which is a network of caverns. You can sit in silence. You can read public domain novels that are available in the game. The creature starts with a small library, but more novels can be discovered. The character even when you are urgent to do something moves at a slow , shambling pace. It was more relaxing than frustrating. The game gave me a sense of peace and wonder like no other video game. Eine ganz neue Spielerfahrung. Kein bestimmtes Spielziel zu haben hat mich ungemein entschläunigt. Einfach nur umsehen und machen worauf man gerade Lust hat. Wenn etwas zwei Wochen oder ein Monat in Echtzeit dauert - dann ist es halt so! Und wenn ich umgekehrt mal ne stressige Woche hab und gar nicht zum Spielen komm - dann ist es halt so!
