Tedious, does not respect your time. I really want to like this game but... this game doesn't respect the time of the player. Everything is tedious and repetitive. Yes, you may be able to learn, but the feedback from the game is absolutely inexistent. You may not know yet, but you already have lost your campaign... but you'll figure that out only 20 or 25 hours later. I think at this point I have watched more "tutorial" on youtube than I played the game myself and you know what? I'm still completely clueless with what I should do. I learned the tutorials by heart, but what they say and what I see in the game are two differentt things. Again, because while the guy during his tutorial says things, the game doesn't show them. Long Playing. Immersive early game. Using your personable agents to push the goals of your faction and expand your control across the earth is quite addictive. Investigating enemy councilors and the aliens while grabbing companies and competing with the other factions for technologies is cool. The early part of the space race and getting footholds on the moon and Mars is also good. Around this phase of the game, the number and unknown value of the many different technology options becomes a bit daunting as does the now more apparent scale of the alien challenge. Looking back the early part of the game seems like a Fun Run you undertook much too casually; the next sections look like a marathon you have not prepared nearly well enough for. Awful - Like a grater to my ears. The voice work is like like having a grater brushed to your ear, it makes the tutorial unplayable.
A Unique Expierience. This game does many things: modern global politics, space warfare, colony mangement, etc.. Some of these a lot better than others. Each playthrough is also long. Many techs aren't worthwhile, but ultimately, I keep coming back because it i one of the few games that does any of these things competently.
