Polly Hill. Very very interesting and hard to explain, a Silent Hill influenced horror somewhat twin-stick melee/shooter with a bit of survival horror. Awesome positioned fixed cameras, fast but difficult gameplay, great atmosphere, sound design, story, lore and music. If there was a thing to complain is that there is not much gameplay progression wise. How you start is almost exactly how you'll end, same basic pistol and skateboard/combo, some secondary weapons for emergency, no power ups or progression really and the game is very focused on combat. BUT, the variety of scenarios, traversal, mix of story elements and just the fact on how the game is presented really makes you forget about the small progression limitation. Performance wise and bugs: Running on linux, found no issues whatsoever, bugs or similar.

Ein kleines Juwel, mit Kanten!. Ich habe eigentlich nix großes erwartet, war aber vom Artstyle des Spiels stark angezogen. Nach 1 1/2 Playtroughs und 10 Stunden Spielzeit kann ich sagen, das Ding ist ein Indy Brett. Ja, es fehlt die Sprachausgabe aber das kompensiert das Spiel mit viel Gestik und Inszenierung. Die Handlung wird schnell sehr düster und ergründet menschliche Abgründe ohne dabei plakativ oder reißerisch zu werden. Dazu das göttliche Artdesign das schnell an die Persona Spiele oder Killer 7 erinnert und ein Gameplaymix, der Twinstick Shooter, Survival Horror, Skateboarding und Adventure Rätselei so mühelos verbindet, das man sich fragen muss warum andere Spiele daran so scheitern. Ja die Skateboard Level sind nicht perfekt, aber skipbar. Ja, die Instant-Tode in Chapter 4 können nerven. Ja, die Kämpfe sind mechanisch etwas simpel und können später etwas anstrengend werden. Ab…
