Repetitive Once You Get the Hang of It. You are the famous general Arthbane of Ars Rare (from before it was conquered) and you are attempting to reclaim the kingdom by recruiting followers and winning battles. During each battle, you mine resources to buy units, which act on the screen on their own to defeat your opponent. PROs: + Units are automated (no management/micromanagement) + No loss in dying + Levels can be played to grind for gold upgrade units or buy food CONs: - Repetitive - Most levels are easy - A couple of very difficult levels - Many unnecessary units - Food (which boosts units' stats) is unnecessary Because units act on their own you don't have to pay attention to them once they have been purchased. Okay, but unprepared for desktop. The game itself is not bad. Nothing particularly new in the genre. Can be fun for a price. BUT I would still expect game being adjusted to Desktop. Yet we have to deal with: - No exit game button, have to use task manager - A lot of Xbox controller icons even when not using controller - Mouse pointor work like stick on pad (that specific "slowliness") without ability to change the speed
Simple Gameplay. I've been well entertained for the small amount of money it cost. Gameplay is simple, but keeps me interested for a few hours.
Great storyline but simplistic gameplay. Well, the title says it all I guess :) Great to pass away the time when you want to play something to relax with a good storyline and simple gameplay. It does not get tedious and if you are good enough you can get away with minimal grinding to complete. If you are not so good, you can grind some levels for extra upgrades and still beat the game.
