Disappointing. I've waited with purchasing this game due the many mixed reviews. Now it is on sale, so... I gave it a shot. TL;DR: I hate it, can't recommend it. The game is simply put: boring, and It feels broken. There are hidden timers in the campaigns you need to fulfill, otherwise you fail. No matter how good your economy is running... Selling cargo to the harbor is a chore. The UI fails in every way. Automating using shipping-routes.. nope! AI is braindead-stupid. If you can forgive all of these issues, you still end up with a dissapointing boring game. There are other games doing a much beter job in every way. So even at this cheap sale price, I asked for a refund. Because this game doesn't deserve my money.
Port Royale 4. A poorer adition to the franchise, the good side is improved graphics which still need some work, the serious downside is the turn based battles, in PR 2 I would capture an entire militsry convoy with 1 military corvette, utilising the speed advantage, pirates never got close unless I wanted them to ! That is military strategy working with experience in real time !
Broken Econ. Game economics are almost unplayable on campaign mode. Prepare for frustration...
great but.... Had to sit and wait over and over because the game will intermittently hang up switching a menu, fresh install found this more trouble than is worth really needs some optomization and qc checks to make more playable, played all the previous ones this one looks better but it may be a new engine and something there is makiing trouble.
