Not a Metroidvania at all. Beautiful soundtrack and aesthetic. I enjoyed Moo Lander for the first couple of hours, but I quickly realized it is a linear game. No ability gates. No true back tracking. No map at all. It is NOT a metroidvania and I am scoring based on this genre. Movement is slow and the dash is not great. If you've played Owlboy, the movement is quite similar. One of the chase sections is so badly done because the movement is too clunky for this section. I know not every game can be Ori or PoP, but man that part was bad. The combat is okay, but not really that fun. Boss fights are generally fought the same way and are kinda boring. I feel like there are too many weapons and most of them are kinda lame. You can cheese the game with the milk missile and mooriken. I did not find it fun, but I really was expecting a true metroidvania experience and did not get that out of Moo…
