Only for masochists. I tried playing it when it came out on GOG and gave up due to frustration I tried playing it again in 2026 and resorted to using a hint-based guide to get past roadblocks. I still got fed up with it and just watched a boss compilation and ending video instead. The game would be good if it didn't have so many game design issues. Often these feel like they are purposeful, downright sadistic. I tried to play first without a guide and ended up in the 'alternate' la-mulana behind the pyramid, since I found that early. So I got trapped there, because I hadn't found the grail yet, and couldn't get back to areas I was supposed to be in. This game will absolutely ruin your saves by trapping you or for other reasons, if you stumble into the wrong areas. It's like finding game breaking bugs, but they are just left in on purpose. Hyped and abandoned.... It must have been a great game sometime, but unfortunately it was abandoned by the developers. Linux Version still suffers from numerous clipping issues during the Viy Boss fight and these issues are known to the developer since 2015! Don't expect any effort, if some OS change breaks the game completely. They will just continue to sell it silently.
A Masterpiece. Very difficult, very niche, but if you like Metroidvanias and solving very, very hard puzzles with pretty much no hand holding, this might just be your new favourite game. I mean, just look at the art style. I have found the second game to be more beginner friendly.
