GOG: Vollständig auf deutsch & englisch!. Ich habe das Spiel noch nicht durchgespielt, aber ich wollte darauf hinweisen, dass diese Version vollständig auf deutsch und englisch gespielt werden kann. Man muss lediglich nach der Installation im Installationsordner die settings.ini folgende Zeilen verändern: game_language_voice = english game_language_text = english (jeweils das letzte Wort english zu german ersetzen) game_language_voice = german game_language_text = german Dies muss auch in der settings.ini in dem Dokumentenordner “Jack Keane And The Fire Within" geschehen, siehe Pfad bei Windows 10: … :\Meine Daten\Dokumente\Jack Keane and the Fire Within ( Um eine settings.ini Datei zu öffnen, muss man nur den Windows Editor öffnen und die settings.ini Datei mit der linken Maustaste reinziehen, alles oben stehendes ändern und SPEICHERN! ).
Poor. It's a nice-enough looking adventure game despite its age, and some dynamic sequences actually look and play pretty cool. Dynamedion's music is dependable as always, if unspectacular, and the adventure narrative is... well, by the numbers, but perfectly passable. But whatever else this game might have going for it, it could never surmount being headed by the most uncharismatic protagonist I can recall in looks, personality, dialogue and voice acting in both the original German and English. Add to that the simplicity of most of its puzzles, the wonky controls and the poorly translated dialogue, and it just doesn't make for a good game. Also, it didn't make me chuckle a single time (for all its self-effacing and trite jabs at German lack of sense of humor) and the only smile to be had was when I recognized Captain Rottingham's voice (of Monkey Island fame). It's just not good enough…
Average game. I definitely prefer JK1. In JK 2 Jack is less likable, constant bickering of 2 women gets on my nerves most of the time and graphics got old less gracefully. Puzzle with an elephant is somewhat bugged and I have no idea what the person who got an idea to constantly press LMB to move your characters had smoked. Jumping and fights are needless too. I liked more logical puzzles than in the first game and some puzzle resolutions depending on choice between Eve and Amanda.
Gute Geschichte. Die Geschichte ist interessant und entwickelt sich schnell. Ein paar Mechaniken kennt man so noch nicht. An manchen Stellen tut man sich schwer, aber insgesamt ist es ausgewogen.
