Not a bad game, in a way.... So I have managed to finish the game, with rather mixed feelings. The story is ok but, at times somewhat odd but the combat system... . The combat system on the other hand is like child of a dog and a cow after a very hard party night and an unholy tête-à-tête on a bale of hay. Unlike in any “conventional” turn-based games here the order of actions is, let’s call it “novel” and very strictly regulated. Figuring this out is annoying as you have literally no guides to this game, and you need to waste some time to get the inner workings of the combat on your own. Firstly, you can attack only before walking that is possibly the most brainless idea I have seen for a long time. Nice start for a Long Jorney.. Despite the final levels were a "pain in the *ss", the entire game gave me a sweet feeling of nostalgia for the "Space Quest" series. The 80's style, the Story and game mechanics were very good, and I hope the sequels will maintain this level of quality. Keep going, thx.
A love letter to retro sci fi. As someone who grew up on original Star Trek, Flash Gordon Serials on PBS and DOE cartoons, and a lot of other sci fi and fantasy in between, I fell in love with the visuals of this game at first sight. The plot is great the gameplay is great. The game play is... rigid sometimes it feels like a puzzle game disguised as a turn based combat game, but I love puzzle games (I didn't use the difficulty reduction option but there is one, and if you're not stubborn you may want to use it to enjoy more gorgeous plot and visuals,) Last time I played it the multiplayer community was virtually dead rendering some of the achievemtns unattainable so the 5 stars are for the first player campaign. The bots in multiplayer for me are fun. One other note, I am playing this in crossover on a Macbook M5 with 24g of ram and it runs great, it ported my saves right over in GOG Gal…
