Positive surprise AND disappointment.. (+) The game has a basically interesting and exciting story. Visually, Hauma is well done and looks stylish. The voice-act is not bad either. Hauma also proves that a graphic novel COULD be combined very well with the game mechanics of a point and click adventure. (-) The characters and the dialogue are often rather flat and wooden. There is usually a lack of depth. An important supporting character is just annoying and clearly only has the function of advancing the story through his stupid bad decisions and scaremongering. The story sometimes seems hobbled and illogical. Once you even had to do such a morally reprehensible thing to a person in order to get ahead that your sympathy with the protagonist sinks to zero. There really could have been more in it - I would say the story would have had Gabriel Knight-like potential if it had been better rea…
Light and shadow, but mostly darkness. I liked the story and visual style, but the protagonist behaves completely idiotically far too often, there are huge plotholes and some of the actions you have to perform (damaging a work of art, making a dry alcoholic drink vodka, constantly and randomly beating people up) completely spoiled the fun for me. The end sequence is absolutely vexing, illogical to the max and then it's all over without any sort of closure. It seems like the studio ran out of money halfway through the game and just published it anyway. I really can't fathom why it has rather positive reviews on other plattforms. Unless you're a big fan of Munich, like to be tormented with bad game and puzzle design and randomly clicking around in your inventory, avoid this game at all cost. PS. As the voice-over is English only, the German text which couldn't be changed (apart from changi…
Nice storz, but still breaking bugs. I enjoyed the story, but encountered 2 game-stopping bugs, that seem to be known for a long time but still have not been fixed.
A lot of potential, but a mess. I wish I could like it; there are many ideas in there I could see leading to an interesting plot and a protagonist with the potential to be interesting, cool, albeit flawed. But the execution. It feels like a fever dream, a total mess, the dialogues are all over the place, there are plot holes, and so many things don't make fully sense or seem to just be in there to be shocking and to be provocative and not because it would make sense. The overuse of harsh language seemed to have been inteded to create a harsh, modern film-noir/gangster-thriller tone, but for me it sounds like being back in school as a 15 year old where all my classmates wanted to show off how badass they are.
