"Just now in Elminage I got mugged by thieves after being given a quest, so I paralyzed the quest giver thief, killed all his friends, had my thief painstakingly unequip all of his stuff and steal it, then merc'd him. Then I confused a unicorn and it chopped its own head off. How does this game even have bad reviews" This game is for masochistic freaks, and I am apparently one of those because I can't get enough of this game for some reason. Get it on sale for $2 if you're unsure, I went in prepared to absolutely hate it and ended up loving it instead.
Buggy overrated trash. - Spent ages making characters, they don't appear in the list of selectable characters - No Minimap. There are one-off consumable maps and certain characters have spells. Which would be useful, except... - No way to rest or return to town once to you start a dungeon. - One wall type. Two if you included doors. This might be the laziest map making I've ever seen. This game REEKS of 'Let's deny the player any Quality of Life, that will surely add like 10 hours of gameplay.' Avoid at all costs. Not really sure why everyone else is lying about this game but when it DOES work, it's like if 'What if the concept of being painfully mediocre was a game?' Nearly everything about this game seems designed to irritate the player. A shame, as it's literally the only Dungeon Crawler I've ever played with good gamepad support. A downgrade from the original. After playing the original and seeing people commenting about the game being harder I though that higher difficulties would be a good match with the combat mechanics and I like hard games so I should buy, unfortunaly this game is considerably less polished and does worse job of teaching the player all the important mechanics, I truly pity anyone who played this game after only using the manual. I genuinely began to ask myself id the developers decided to make annoying the player a higher priority than challenging or entertaining, seriously removing the compass and making the map a single use consumable item that can only be repleaced by a better option after a good chunk of progession in a optional and extremely missable part is insane. Not even on sale do I recommend.. I am a big wizardry 6-8 fan and a very big might and magic fan but this game feels like all the worst aspects of those games amplified. Sure its a remake of an old game but it feels like a remake of all the worst parts of them and even with years to perhaps rework some of those worst aspects they simply let them go. I cant imagine how bad I would have felt about the purchase if it wasnt 90% off when I got it and I nearly paid 20$ for it years earlier on steam. The game itself starts with basically no explanation of anything. No class/race descriptions or stat descriptions not even a vague idea what the things like a servant class do and the first dungeon itself expect to walk into your first encounter to just be instantly team wiped by bad rng for the first combats combatant rolls.
