Would not let me skip the DRM launcher. Very disappointed in GOG. I didn't want to believe the reviews that said there was a DRM launcher -- and for me the "SKIP" button was greyed out. Not installing the Launcher, which had already downloaded product commercials, was not an option. Having an exit button that can't be used . . . gee, that's just deceitful, right? So, $3.30 (including state tax) isn't anything I'm concerned about -- but I asked for my money back out of principle.
Good RTS game. It's no match to Desperados, Robin Hood or anything else that is an RTS, but this game for sure had a lot of love put into it. The gameplay of the game is a little clunky however the overall quality is top notch.
Has DRM. Whilst the game launches fine with no internet connection, when you're online (which is 99% of the time) you're forced to use and download the Kalypso Launcher with the "skip" button greyed out and unable to click. You can't even block the game's .exe with a firewall. Shambles from GOG.
An injection of innovation. Stealth real-time tactics games mostly follow the formula nailed by Commandos and touched up by its sequels. Modern games like Shadow Tactics focus on getting the execution right rather than reinventing the wheel. Crookz takes a bolder route and tries to innovate - maybe a little too much. Changing the setting from covert ops to heists prevents you from killing everyone one by one. Only one character can knock guards out, and only temporarily, putting much more emphasis on being undetected. While no kill runs of traditional RTT stealth games are fiendishly difficult, the situation here is made easier by new tools at your disposal: some of those are literally new, never before seen items. I particularly loved construction foam, letting you seal doors to a room to lock guards inside. Moving the action to the 70s made it also possible to partially replace guards…
