Classic RPG whit good style. The look, the characters and te visuals are the main peace of this game. That an a little bit of one or two oddities in the gameplay make this game diferent unique and ejoyable. Buecause the rpg part its classical and functional but not somethin out of the ordinary. At least for me this was a good game and a game that i wanna play since years ago.
A Visually Pretty JRPG With Many Flaws. This critique is being made out of spite, as the 8000 character limit seems to be nonsense. So, this is going to be a heavily watered down critique, which is sad, because I could easily use up all 8000 characters to share exactly what this game offers. TLDR: Read the title. Cris Tales is a video game within the JRPG genre. The first thing I want to get out of the way is this. This game is 'really' long. Outside the DLC [which feels tacked on] I put 43 hours into this. The price to hourly ratio is about 1 to 1, at full price. I acquired it for $1.99. I got my moneys worth. Visuals: This is the reason you purchased this game. Don't kid yourself. Yet, with how pretty these visuals are, there is a lot of clutter due to the perspective they chose to work with. wonderful classic RPG game, perfect. this game is absolutely amazing. it is from a Columbian studio, and there are cultural influences throughout the game. the artwork is gorgeous, with the 2D characters looking seamless with the cell shaded 3D backgrounds. the scene framing is cinematic and moving. the mechanics are familiar JRPG turn-based, but with plenty of quality-of-life upgrades. once you understand the main role of each character, the battles will become far easier and thus feels rewarding when you figure it all out. the characters are intriguing and vibrant, with fun and well done voice acting all around. the storyline is inventive and heartfelt. don't skip through; it's well written. my recommendation: take your time with this game. enjoy the entirely of the experience.
Fairy tale w/ unique art and good music. The unique and beautiful art and the music carried this for me. I took my time a leisurely enjoyed the scenery and the character sprites. Looked for secrets, Looked at the past and future versions of everything. The story feels like a fairy tale. The combat was okay, nothing too impressive. While walking back-and-forth, looking for secrets, I seem to have done enough random encounters to be a decent level when it was boss time. As for what I didn't like: - I really wish the loading screen was not so bright white. - The ending animation I felt like it wrapped up some things too quickly for the otherwise lengthier feel of the game. If you're looking to be super impressed by the gameplay, this might not be for you. But if you go in ready to lay back and enjoy a leisurely experience, you'll have a good time.
